In the case of carpet, rotary machine cotton bonnets can be used with a VLM cleaning solution to suspend soils, and "extract" them to the cotton bonnet, thus cleaning the carpet by scrubbing and suspending and extrating soils to the bonnet.
In the case of upholstery, VLM can be used with towels or hand bonnets.
In the end, carpets and upholstery can become soiled with body and animal oils, dirt, and other organic materials that can be removed by professional HWE or VLM cleaning.
